Camgo is a random chat site that drops you into a one-on-one video or text conversation with a stranger, without profiles or swiping. It has been online since the mid-2010s and still works the same way in 2026: add a few interests, press start and talk. In this review we cover how Camgo works, what is free and what costs money, how safe it is, and how it compares with rivals covered in наш обзор Chatrandom. If Camgo isn’t for you, our roundup of sites like Camgo lists other options.

Camgo at a glance

Camgo is a free random chat website at camgo.com that pairs you with a stranger for a private video or text conversation. There are no public profiles to browse and conversations are not saved, so each chat starts fresh and anonymous. What sets it apart from bare-bones roulette sites is interest matching: you type a few topics, and Camgo tries to connect you with someone who listed the same ones. It sits in the same space as Emerald Chat’s interest-based matching, but with a simpler, lighter interface.

How does Camgo work?

1. Open camgo.com in a desktop or mobile browser; nothing to download.
3. Optionally add interest tags so Camgo can match you with like-minded people.
4. Allow camera and microphone access and press start to meet a random stranger.
5. Skip to the next person at any time, and use the report option if someone breaks the rules.

Camgo is free for random video and text chat, and its only paid product is Camgo Plus. Plus costs $6.99 a week and adds the gender filter; it renews automatically each week until you cancel, and independent reviews note you must cancel at least one day before the term ends and that there is no money-back guarantee. Payment is by card, so it can’t be made anonymously. If a gender filter is the only reason you’d pay, sites with a free gender filter will save you money over a month.

Camgo pros and cons

Is Camgo safe to use?

Camgo is reasonably safe if you treat every stranger with caution. It doesn’t show public profiles, doesn’t save conversations and lets you report users, but like every random video chat it can’t stop all bad behaviour in real time. These habits matter more than any platform feature, and our guide to

Don’t share your full name, address, phone number, school, workplace or social media.
Strangers pushing you to other apps, payment pages or “verification” sites are almost always scammers.
• Watch your subscription. If you try Camgo Plus, note the renewal date and cancel at least a day early if you don’t want to keep it.
Random video chat can include mature content, so it is for adults only.

Camgo vs other random video chat sites

Camgo sits in the middle of the pack: easier than most and good at interest matching, but it charges for a filter that several rivals give away. StrangerCam offers gender and country filters for free, while Chatrandom and Chatspin follow the same weekly Plus model with native apps added. Who is Camgo best for?

Camgo is best for adults who want quick, anonymous conversations with people who share their interests, and for anyone who prefers a text-only option before turning on a camera. It is a weaker choice if you want to choose who you meet by gender without paying, or if you want a polished mobile app. If a free gender filter matters most, StrangerCam’s free filters are the better fit. You can also try our бесплатный чат с камерой, which pairs you with a stranger instantly with no sign-up and no fees (18+).

Итог

Camgo does the basics of random chat well: it is quick, anonymous, works in any browser and its interest tags make conversations feel less random. The weekly Camgo Plus fee for a gender filter, the auto-renewal terms and the lack of a native app hold it back against free competitors. It is worth a try for interest-based video or text chat, but compare it with the other top Omegle alternatives before paying for anything.
