Randochat Review 2026: Is the Anonymous Random Chat App Worth Using?

RandoChat has been around since the late 2010s and is still live on the App Store and Google Play in 2026, selling itself as a way to skip the feeds and falar straight to a stranger. This review covers how it works, what it does well, where it falls short and how safe it is. If you already know it isn’t for you, jump to our roundup of apps like Randochat worth trying instead.

Randochat at a glance

O que é Randochat?

RandoChat is a mobile chat app that connects you instantly with a random stranger for a private one-on-one conversation. There are no group rooms or public feeds: each chat is just you and one other person, and you can move on to someone new whenever you like. It sits in the same space as hashtag-matched Chatous, which we reviewed in full, and browser-based options such as Chatblink’s no-sign-up text chat, but it is app-only.

How does Randochat work?

1. Download RandoChat free from the App Store or Google Play.
2. Open the app and, if you want, add a profile photo, interests and preferences.
3. Tap to be matched with a random user who is online.
4. Chat by text, or send voice notes and images.
5. Save people you like as favourites, manage pending chat requests, and block or report anyone who bothers you.

Randochat’s main features

Is Randochat free?

Yes, RandoChat is free to download and use. The app is supported by ads, which reviewers say can be frequent, and the Android version may offer optional in-app purchases, but random chat itself doesn’t require payment.

Pros and cons

O uso do Randochat é seguro?

RandoChat is only as safe as your own habits: it has block and report tools, but the App Store rates it 18+ for mature content and user reviews often mention spam, fake profiles and explicit messages.

• Stay anonymous. Don’t use your real name or a photo that links to your social media, and never share your address, phone number or workplace.
• Ignore links and money requests. Scammers on random chat apps push links, “verification” sites and payment apps.
• Think before sending photos or voice notes. Anything you send can be saved and shared.
• Block and report. If someone is pushy or explicit, block them and move on.
• Check app permissions. Only allow access to your photos, microphone and contacts if you actually need it.
• 18+ only. RandoChat is rated for adults, and chats can include sexual content.

How Randochat compares

If you’d rather chat from a browser and occasionally switch to camera, our MeetSkip review covers a site that does both without an account. For group conversations instead of one-on-one, see how Addchat’s chat rooms work, and our guide to random text chat with strangers compares the best one-on-one text sites side by side.

Who is Randochat best for?

RandoChat is best for adults who want quick, anonymous text chats on their phone and don’t mind ads or filtering out spam: people killing time, night owls or anyone who prefers typing to being on camera. It’s a poor fit if you want video, a desktop version or well-moderated conversations, and anyone who cares about safety should start with our list of safer websites to talk to strangers. If you’d like to actually see who you’re talking to, try our free video chat with strangers, which needs no sign-up (18+).

The bottom line

RandoChat still does the basic job in 2026: one tap and you’re in a private, anonymous text chat with a stranger, with voice notes, photos and favourites thrown in for free. The trade-offs are real, though: no video, no web version, plenty of ads and a steady stream of complaints about spam and fake profiles. It’s fine for casual phone chat if you keep your guard up, but most people will get more from the picks in our guide to talking to strangers online. Our rating: 2.5/5.
