Shagle at a glance

Why look for a Shagle alternative?

Most people leave Shagle because the features they want cost money. The gender filter, the full country list and an ad-free experience all require Premium, and the weekly plan renews automatically. With an audience that is roughly two-thirds male, many users also want a site with a different mix of people or stronger moderation.

The best Shagle alternatives in 2026

1. OmeTV: best overall

OmeTV is the best all-round alternative because it is free, busy around the clock and works smoothly on both web and mobile. A quick sign-in helps cut down on bots, and moderation is stricter than on many rivals. Read our OmeTV review for tips on getting better matches.

2. Chatroulette: best for global reach

Chatroulette is the original random video chat site and still attracts users from all over the world. It requires an account and uses moderation to keep chats cleaner than in its early days; see what Chatroulette is like today for details.

3. Chatspin: best for filters and extras

Chatspin is a good pick if you like customising chats, with country filters, face masks and effects, plus an optional paid plan for the gender filter. Our Chatspin guide explains what is free and what costs extra.

How to choose the right Shagle alternative

1. Decide whether you want a completely free site or are happy to pay for a gender filter.
2. Check whether sign-up is required; no-account sites are faster but often have more bots.
3. Look for active moderation and an easy report button.
4. Test the site on your phone if you’ll mainly chat on mobile.
5. Avoid auto-renewing plans unless you’ll use them regularly.

Staying safe on random video chat sites

Random video chat is safe enough if you stay anonymous and know when to skip. Our guide to безопасные сайты для общения с незнакомцами goes further, but these basics cover most risks.

• Stay anonymous and never share your full name, address, school or workplace.
• Don’t share social media or phone numbers with people you’ve just met.
• Skip and report anyone who is rude, explicit without consent or asks for money.
• Watch your background so nothing on camera reveals where you live.
• 18+ only. Random video chat sites are for adults.

Who should switch from Shagle?

Switch if you don’t want to pay for the gender filter, want a different mix of people or prefer stricter moderation. Stay with Shagle if you’re happy with its free chat or already value its Premium extras. For even more options, our roundup of Omegle alternatives is a useful next read.
