7 Best Funyo Alternatives in 2026: Free Random Video Chat Sites Compared

Funyo is a long-running naključno webcam chat that still works much as it did in the early 2010s, as we explain in our full Funyo review. The catch is everything around that core: there’s no official app, moderation is light and the filters most people want v živo on a separate partner site. If you want the same instant chat with better apps, filters or safety, these are the best Funyo alternatives in 2026.

Funyo at a glance

Why look for a Funyo alternative?

Most people leave Funyo for better filters, a real app or safer chats. Funyo’s own random chat is unfiltered by gender, and clicking for a gender or location filter takes you to Flingster, which asks for an account and charges for some options. There’s also no official app, and independent reviews describe a crowd that skews heavily male.

If you want proper filters, Shagle and Chatrandom build them in. If you chat mostly on your phone, OmeTV’s apps are far smoother. And if moderation matters most, Emerald Chat is designed around it. For the wider picture, see our guide to varna spletna mesta za pogovor z neznanci.

How to get started on a Funyo alternative

1. Pick the site that fixes what bothered you on Funyo (app, filters or moderation).
2. Open it in your browser or install its official app from Google Play or the App Store.
3. Allow camera and microphone access when asked.
4. Set any country, language, gender or interest filters the site offers.
5. Press Start, and use Next, Report or Block whenever you need to.

The best Funyo alternatives in 2026

1. OmeTV: best overall

OmeTV is the best all-round Funyo alternative because it keeps the same instant, free matching but adds proper iOS and Android apps, country and language filters and stricter moderation. Our OmeTV review covers its apps and rules in detail.

2. Chatrandom: best for a big global crowd

Chatrandom is the closest like-for-like swap if you used Funyo’s gay chat, because it offers random video, a dedicated gay chat mode and a country filter, plus an app. The most precise gender filter sits behind its premium upgrade.

3. Shagle: best for filters

Shagle is built around the gender and location filters that Funyo pushes off-site, with video and text chat in one window and virtual gifts. Basic chat is free and the sharpest filters are premium.

4. Emerald Chat: best for moderation

Emerald Chat suits anyone put off by Funyo’s light moderation, because it combines moderators, a karma reputation system and interest tags to keep conversations calmer than most free sites. A gender filter is available as a paid extra.

5. Joingy: best for quick text or video

Joingy is the most similar in spirit to Funyo: completely free, no account and anonymous, but with the option to switch between text and video. Moderation is report-driven, so it isn’t the safest pick; read our Joingy review for the full picture.

6. Bazoocam: best for casual chat in Europe

Bazoocam is a free French video chat with built-in mini-games and location-based matching that favours nearby users, which helps if you want same-language chats in Europe. Like Funyo it runs in the browser rather than an app.

7. Chat to Strangers: best simple free option
